Highways England is reporting delays back to Walton Summit and into Broughton. There are delays of 30 minutes on the southbound side and up to 45 minutes heading northbound from Junction 29.

The M61 northbound where it joins the M6 is seeing average speeds of 6mph around 1pm as traffic attempts to merge onto the M6.
