Police are appealing to find a group of four boys seen stealing bikes outside a shop in Friargate.
Two bikes were taken from outside the Footlocker shop in Preston city centre around 3pm on Sunday.
Detectives believe the boys took one bike before returning a short time later to steal a second one.
The first boy is described as black with a short flat top style haircut and was wearing a white tracksuit with a large blue line down the side of the sleeves and bottoms.
The second is described as white and was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
The third is described as white with short shaven red hair and was wearing a black tracksuit with a puffer style jacket.
The fourth is described as white with short dark hair and was wearing a navy blue tracksuit with white toggles.
The stolen bikes are described as a Mongoose BMX with a green logo and an orange and white Giant mountain bike with black details on the frame.
PC 632 James Hesketh of Preston Police said: “There were plenty of people in the area when the bikes were stolen and I would appeal to anyone who might have seen this group of boys to get in touch.”
