Lancashire Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service have been responding to a number of incidents in the Walton-le-Dale and Lostock Hall area.

A motorist had to be rescued from their car around 5.40pm in Todd Lane North.

Calls started to come into emergency services around 5pm as heavy rain lashed Preston and the surrounding area.

Police closed Todd Lane North between Lyndale Avenue and Carwood Park due to surface water.
