The Balmoral Public House & Manchester Road Mill, Preston 1984

Fire crews were called to a derelict former pub on Manchester Road at around 2.15pm this afternoon.

There were no casualties of the fire which occurred on the ground floor of the two-storey pub, The Balmoral.

An investigation is now underway into what caused the fire which saw firefighters use breathing apparatus, and two water hose reels to distinguish it.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said as the building was derelict, there were no evacuations to be made and the fire has now been put out.
