Councillor John Potter has received confirmation from Lancashire County Council they are considering a section of Cadley Causeway near St Anthony’s Church is being considered for a new crossing.

Cadley councillor Potter said: “I’m delighted that this first step towards finally getting a crossing has happened. There are more hurdles for us to get over yet but this is welcome news.

“The recent accident involving a young cyclist made it clear that something needed to be done.”

St Anthony’s school governor Steve Tiernan said: “This is fantastic news and a positive step towards making St Anthonys and Cadley a much safer area.”

The county council’s highways department confirmed the road was on the list for a new crossing in the 2016/2017 financial year.
