Blitz relaunches tonight in a brand new venue after an absence of several months.

The nightclub will now be at the former site of Coda and the Frog and Bucket on Lord’s Walk.

They closed in January due to their original location being set for demolition but, at their new premises, recently won permission to stay open until 4.30am.

Preston, are you ready?

Jenny Alexander, of Blitz, said: “We have done a lot of work to the building cosmetically so it does look very different from any other previous incarnations it has been. Firstly our new building allows us to open as a bar as well as a venue/club.

“The bar ,which will be open from 8pm on Friday, is a real chilled hangout. We have a pool table, jukebox, a wide selection of drinks including craft ales and we aim to provide really friendly and relaxed atmosphere in there.

“The main club room, which opens from 11pm on Friday, has had a lot done to it as well including a brand new stage and VIP booths. To be honest pretty much a full re-fit throughout the two rooms.”

Blitz will also be aiming at a wider audience than they have done in the past.

Jenny said: “The music policy for the launch weekend clubnights is high energy, commercial and chart music that is mashed up, sampled and mixed in with every genre from rock to soul, punk to funk and everything in between.

“Everybody says they hear the same songs in the same clubs on the same nights. We aim to provide an alternative to that.”

They will also continue to host live music with names to be announced in the near future.

Launch weekend prices are free on the door before 11pm and £3 thereafter. The first 100 through the door will also get a free champagne cocktail.
