This year Armed Forces Day is being celebrated in great style with entertainment galore throughout the day ending with the Tribute to Heroes night which is to be headlined by Collabro.

The day started with the The King’s Royal Hussars (KRH) with a ‘Freedom of the City’ march and completing their journey assembling in front of the War Memorial in the Market Place. The gathered crowds were addressed by the Mayor of Preston, Councillor Mrs Margaret McManus and Lieutenant Colonel Justin Kingsford. This was then followed by  a short service given by the Vicar of Preston, Fr Timothy Lipscomb. A VIP reception was held in the Harris Museum and Art Gallery which was hosted by Councillor Drew Gale, in association with principal sponsor, the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce. Many activities, displays and enertainment pieces took place on the Flag Market and surrounding areas during the whole day.
