Locals can trace their World War One ancestors online across events in Penwortham this summer, with the help of Lancashire County Council libraries.
AdvertisementThe one-to-one sessions will show people how to use the internet to discover ancestors and research their family history.
Sessions in Penwortham will be held on Monday July 27 between 2pm and 5pm at Kingsfold Library, and again on Friday August 21 between 9.30am and 5pm at Penwortham Library.
Anyone wishing to attend is advised to book a time as places are limited. Each session is 30 minutes long.
Fiona McIntyre, community heritage manager, said: “Anybody who has an ancestor who was involved in WW1 and wants to find out more about them are welcome to come along.
“We’ll look at the records available and any other useful sources of information.
“These sessions are useful for anyone who is interested or who wants to take this further and work on their family tree. Maybe they have already started their family tree and have got a bit stuck with their research.”
Other sessions are taking place across different locations throughout the county. For more information on these other sites and to book a place call 0300 123 6703 or drop by the library.
