A fly past by an RAF Dakota aircraft has been pulled from the Armed Forces Day celebration.

Preston will see a host of different events during Saturday for the annual celebration.

A Dakota had been due to make everyone look skyward during the event but organisers say it has been cancelled.

They tweeted: “Sad to have to report the Dekota (sic) flyover by the RAG has had to be cancelled, has an engine fault that can not be fixed in time. cest la ve :(”

The Armed Forces Day includes Preston City Wrestling on the flag market, a parade by the Kings Royal Hussars as they celebrate freedom of the city and Collabro headlining a fundraising concert in the evening at the Guild Hall.
