Appeal: Police release CCTV images after man has ear bitten off in the city centre

Preston Police have released CCTV images of a man suspected of biting another man’s ear off.

On Saturday June 27, a 25 year old man tried to interrupt an argument.

He was punched twice and his right ear was bitten off before other members of the public intervened.

The victim suffered broken teeth and lost a large part of his ear.

The incident happened between Fishers Pub and Bet Sid bookmakers.

DC Justin Singleton of Preston CID said: “This was a nasty and vicious assault on a young man who has been left with a serious injury to his ear.

“We are keen to identify the man pictured in the white shirt in connection with this incident and I would urge him, or anyone who recognises him, to come forward.

“We also know that there were a number of people in the area at the time of the attack and we are particularly keen to talk any potential witnesses who may have seen what happened.”
