Preston North End charged by FA following play-off pitch invasion

Preston North End have been charged by the FA for the pitch invasion that followed their 3-0 victory of Chesterfield in the play-off semi final.

The charge alleges that Preston failed to ensure unauthorised persons refrained from threatening, provocative, violent and abusive behaviour.

Matthew Edwards, aged 20, has already been banned from attending games for three years for assaulting former Blackpool player Ian Evatt.

Preston have until June 15 to respond.

PNE were promoted to the Championship following a huge win against Swindon Town in the play-off final at Wembley.
