Debbie Beardmore, 24, saw her work picked out as one of four student designers to be featured from the catwalk.
She said: “All of my work is created from heavy duty hard wearing material. I took several trips around Manchester, including the Science and Industry Museum, and Astley Deep Pit to gather ideas and really wanted to capture the gritty industrial past of the North of England.
“I was overjoyed when my dress was chosen by Vogue to be part of the preview shoot and it’s fantastic to see it in one of the biggest fashion magazines in the world.”
Fellow University of Central Lancashire student Megan Kimmance was one of 25 budding designers picked to take part in the fashion week’s Gala catwalk.
She said: “It was amazing and I’m still in shock. I’ve worked really hard over the last four years and seeing my collection on the catwalk at the Gala Show made it all worthwhile. A popular design brand has approached me on the back of it so I’m reaping the rewards already.”
