The 45-year-old victim was sat at a bench at a disused taxi rank in Lords Walk at 11.30pm on Sunday 26 April.

She was waiting for her partner to pick her up when she was approached by a man.

Police say as the man fled he said to the woman “Lucy you weren’t stabbed”.

The bag was recovered near to Crooked Lane opposite Preston Bus Station.

The offender is described as white, in his twenties, with short fair hair, of a skinny build with a long thin face. He was wearing a long sleeved sweatshirt and a top with a white collar underneath.
