Outraged football fans have started an online petition to ban Linda Moon from Preston North End for life.

Moon made national news when she apologised for lying about having terminal cancer in an interview with Rock FM.

The petition currently has over 1,000 signatures calling for her to be banned from Deepdale for life.

The confession resulted in an outpouring of hatred on social media but many also called for calm and then need to avoid a mob mentality.

Moon, who received significant support from Preston North End, has since returned any gifts that she received from the club.
