A new wine and cocktail bar may be opening in the ground floor of the Guild Hall.
Review has been planned to replace what used to be the tourist information centre and former shop Styx – which has moved to new premises in the arcade.
It will have a lounge and snug area as well as a round central bar, serving drinks before and after performances at the venue.
Plans for the bar include creating a new internal staircase from the bar to the first floor terrace looking down into Lancaster Road.
A statement from the Frank Whittle Partnership acting on behalf of the Rigby group states: “The proposed new Review ar is the latest part of the overall redevelopment of Preston Guild Hall with the overall intention of turning the venue into a busy culural and social hub with an excellent variety of food and drink on offer.
“Review would add a dynamic and vibrant offering at the front of the Guild Hall with the hope of providing a real destination wine and cocktail bar within the city centre.”
Multi-millionaire Simon Rigby bought the Guild Hall in summer last year from Preston City Council for £1.
He has set about refurbishing the venue as well as opening a new tapas restaurant and coffee shop within the Guild Hall complex.
