Anti-fracking protesters are expected to set up camp in Preston from Tuesday ahead of a decision by Lancashire County Council on Cuadrilla’s plans.
AdvertisementTwo sites near Preston are to be discussed in terms of their suitability for fracking, with officers recommending fracking be restarted at Preston New Road but not allowed at Roseacre Wood.
Bus lanes into the city centre are being closed off as hundreds of people will be outside County Hall waiting for the decision by county councillors.
The county council is closing the bus lane heading into the city centre up Fishergate Hill.
Bus services using this lane are to be diverted along Bow Lane and into Ringway.
The bus stop on Bow Lane will be used only for passengers getting off the bus.
Anyone wanting to use the bus stop on Fishergate opposite the railway station will be out of use.
The diversion comes into place from 7am on Tuesday until 7pm on Friday 26 June.
