Police investigating the death of a 24-year-old woman in the Ashton-on-Ribble area of Preston say they are not treating it as suspicious.

The woman was found at an address in Heywood Road at 5.25am on Saturday.

Ambulance crews took her to Royal Preston Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

A 26-year-old man from Preston was arrested on suspicion of murder but on Sunday morning was released without charge by Lancashire Police.

Police said they are now awaiting toxicology results after a Home Office post mortem was inconclusive as to the cause of her death.

The 26-year-old man has been bailed pending further enquiries in relation to an offence of allegedly being concerned in the supply of cocaine until 30 June.
