Preston North End join Wade Barrett on wrestling stage

Preston North End players joined Preston-born wrestler Wade Barrett in Manchester on April 12.

The WWE event, which was not televised, saw several players walk out with Barrett as he tweeted “About time the city of Manchester got a look at a real team…”

The Preston North End and England fan performs under the name Bad News Barrett and has gone on to be a five-time champion in the WWE, claiming the Intercontinental Champion title most recently.

His match in London on Monday was televised on RAW, WWE’s flagship televised show, where commentator Michael Cole was said to have claimed that Preston was just an hour’s drive away from the capital.
