Candidates for the Preston City Council elections have been announced across 19 wards which have local elections this year.

Labour currently holds control at the Town Hall, with 32 out of 57 councillors.

There is no election in Cadley, Fishwick or St George’s.

The councillor seats up for election are the seats last contested in May 2011. This was the local election when Labour won control of the city council after a period of 12 years of no overall control, with a Conservative and Liberal Democrat informal coalition.
