A former bridal store on Fishergate Hill is to become a new community hub.

Lancashire Women’s Centre have applied to turn the ground floor of the shop into a a community education centre.

Upstairs will be offices for the organisation which has its headquarters in Blackburn.

The centres currently operate in Blackpool, Burnley, Accrington and Blackburn. They offer counselling and help for women in finding employment.

No parking is to be provided at the site but the organisation says its visitors will be signposted to nearby car parks or advised to visit using public transport.
