Two men went into the shop wearing hooded tops with their faces covered. One of the men threatened the shop assistant with what was thought to be a small hand gun and the other a hammer. They demanded that he open the till and hand over cash, which he did.
The pair then made off with around £400 and it is thought that they headed towards the train station on foot.

One of the men is described as of a slim build wearing a black hooded tracksuit with white draw string toggles, a white zip down the front of the top and dark Adidas trainers.
The second man is described as slim and was wearing a dark coloured tracksuit, with three lighter coloured stripes down the arms, possibly Adidas, and a grey coloured zip and grey cuffs. He was also wearing black Nike gloves, dark trainers and was carrying a cloth drawstring bag with a large Adidas logo on the front.

DC Rachael Ashcroft of Preston CID said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the shop assistant and we are determined to find those responsible for the robbery. Anyone with information about the identity of the men or about the incident itself, please contact us on 101 quoting log number 1242 of January 25th.”

Alternatively, they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at Crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
