Whittingham Road
Two additional homes could be constructed in Whittingham on land already earmarked for a new housing development.
David Wilson Homes has applied to Preston City Council to develop land to the south of Whittingham Road with 78 new homes.
The developers say they are applying to re-position where some of the homes will go in the Whittingham development, which was approved in February.
New plans would change the types of some of the housing and also increase the number of affordable homes from 23 to 24.
There would be more three bedroom homes on the site, cutting down the number of two bedroom homes.
Whittingham Parish Council has objected to the development saying existing sewers cannot cope with additional properties.
They also write semi-detached and mews properties in the north west corner of the site would be “out of character” with the area.
Council planning officers have indicated support for the scheme assuming a Section 106 agreement can be reached, where a developer must pay for community facilities to be provided.
Councillors meet at the next planning commitee on Monday 12 January to discuss the plans.
