The Last Band Standing event was set up by popular Preston music venue The Ferret in September 2014. This is The Ferret’s first band tournament; it’s purpose being to find “the next big thing.”

Aside from the title of ‘The Ferret’s Last Band Standing,’ the winners of the competition are set to receive professional studio recording time, a recording session and radio play with the BBC, CD artwork, a band photo shoot, a cash sum and further industry prizes are to be revealed.

The Ferret began to accept applications from entrants in September and successful applicants competed against one another in a series of 5 rounds known as ‘heats.’

The semi-finals of the event are now upon the winners of each round and the finalists include local bands: Sky Valley Mistress, The Cheeky Keys, The Scarletts and Satyr Play.

Doors open at 8pm, January 29 at The Ferret and entry is free.
