Preston student begins 24 hour sleepout to raise cash for homeless

A Preston student has begun her sleepout on the city streets to raise more than £6,000 for a homeless man’s flat deposit.

UCLan student Dominique Harrison-Bentzen, 22, was inspired to help a homeless man known as Robbie.

He tried to help Dominique when she lost her wallet during a night out in the city and tried to get home in the early hours.

She and fellow students have begun their sleepout outside Wikinson’s to raise awareness of rough sleepers on Preston’s streets.

Dominique’s online fundraising campaign has already seen more than 1,000 pledges.
