A cricket club in the North West of the city has received partial funding towards buying a defibrillator.
AdvertisementFulwood and Broughton Cricket Club has been given £390 by Preston North county councillor Geoff Driver towards the medical equipment.
A statement from the club says: “The defibrillator will provide additional and potentially life-saving first aid facilities for those participating in and watching cricket at the club, but in addition, as it will be sited on the outside of the building, it will be acessible to all members of the public within each reach of the ground.”
The cost of the equipment is £1,180 and the club is waiting on two other applications to county councillors for a chunk of their local member grants.
