Corrie star Tisha Merry to attend St Catherine’s Hospice 2014 Christmas Festival

Coronation Street actress and St Catherine’s Hospice supporter Tisha Merry will be a special guest at the charity’s fabulous Christmas Festival this weekend.Tisha, who plays Steph Britton in the popular ITV soap, will be joining in the festive fun on Saturday, when they’ll be a host of fun family attractions on offer.

Highlights will include an ice rink on the front lawn, Santa’s grotto, craft fair, gift stalls, games and rides. There will also be a host of festive entertainment from local groups and performers, and Elsa and Olaf from Frozen will also be popping by on Saturday between 3pm and 4pm.

Sunday’s event also features the two-mile sponsored Santa Dash and half mile Rudolph Rumble for children aged eight and under. Advance registration has now closed, but people can still sign up on the day. The hospice and The Mill catering team will be serving up winter warmers from food stands within the festival, and The Mill Café, recently opened in the grounds, will be open the same hours as the festival serving drinks and sweet treats.

Tisha, whose granddad was cared for at St Catherine’s earlier this year, said: “I’m really looking forward to coming along to the Christmas Festival with my family – it sounds like it will be a great afternoon out which people can enjoy whilst helping to raise money for the hospice. “The funds will help other people have access to the same wonderful care my Granddad and my family did which is so important, especially at this time of year.
