Witnesses are being sought after a 62 year old Preston man died in a car crash on Tuesday night.
AdvertisementA blue MG sports car was heading towards the city on the A583 Kirkham bypass around 8pm last night, when the vehicle came off the road and collided with a tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident happened around 8pm and close to the junction with the B5192 Dowbridge.
Police closed the road for four hours as they investigated the crash.
PS David Hurst of the Road Policing Team said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who are being supported by specialist officers.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the area or who witnessed what happened to get in touch so that we can establish exactly how the collision occurred.”
