The Museum of Lancancashire is hosting a Lancashire Neet put on by its Friends group.

Entertainment at the event on Thursday 27 November comes from the Preston Musical Comedy Society.

Hotpot and apple pie is being provided by local caterer Derek Smith.

The event starts at 7.30pm and runs until 9.30pm and includes the Loyal Toast. Tickets are £12.50 available from the Museum or call 01772 534 075.

Lancashire Archives are holding a coffee morning on Lancashire Day itself from 10am to 1pm.

They are inviting anyone along to sample delicious homemade cakes and raise money for the Hulton Appeal. Original material from the Hulton archive collection will be on display.

The Hultons were a major Lancastrian family and their lifestyle is said to have inspired hit TV series Downton Abbey.

Poet and story teller Dean Fraser takes visitors to Brockholes Nature Reserve on a journey around the Red Rose County.

He will tell tales of our ancestors and Lancashire Life in the 21st century.

Tickets are £7 for the event on Lancashire Day which runs from 1pm to 3pm. Tickets include a tea or coffee and a Chorley Cake in the interval.

Ribbleton Library is also putting on a Lancashire Day event with a hotpot lunch.

Taking place on Friday 28 November from 12.30pm to 4pm, the Friends of Ribbleton Library and those who want to attend need to register by Friday 21 November by calling 0300 123 6703.
