Lancashire County Council’s proposals do not include adequate parking provision according to its own highways department.

Greyfriars councillor Stephen Thompson objected to the plans saying the road at Wychnor were already clogged up during dropping off and picking up time.

The nursery is proposed to operate two three hour sessions from 9am to 12noon and from 12noon to 3pm. It would have 32 children and run from 7.45am to 5.45pm.

One local resident spoke at the city council’s planning committee saying Wychnor was becoming seriously congested at peak times.

Councillors voted to object to the proposal as part of the county council’s consultation.
