The former police station building in Fulwood is set to be converted into offices.
AdvertisementPTS Limited, based in Adlington, have applied to convert the building on Watling Street Road.
Director Anthony Sewell has bought the building after it was auctioned off by Lancashire Police.
An attempt had been made by Preston charity Young Lancashire to have the building listed as an asset of community value.
Preston City Council refused the suggestion which would have seen it become a voluntary and social enterprise hub.
The station building has been sold for around £300,000.
Lancashire Police has been closing district police stations as part of its reorganisation to meet savings targets.
Mr Sewell has tabled a certificate of lawfulness application, which if approved means no planning permission is needed for the conversion.
Anyone wishing to comment on the application can do so via the city council website or email devcon@preston.gov.uk by Wednesday 26 November quoting reference 06/2014/0826
