A Fulwood pensioner has popped into a Preston city centre restaurant to see herself up on the wall.
AdvertisementJoan Cookson visited the new look Pizza Express and spotted herself in one of the pictures.
The restaurant on Winckley Street was recently refurbished and includes pictures of Preston’s cotton industry in its heyday.
Joan, 86, spotted a photograph of her uncle John Lee in an article in the Lancashire Evening Post.
She said: “I just couldn’t believe it at first. “There was a picture of my Uncle John and then next to it one of me!
“It brought back lovely memories. I had a wonderful time working at the mill. I particularly liked listening to the BBC’s Workers’ Playtime on the radio.”
Restaurant manager Lisa Jefferson arranged for a framed copy of both photographs to be presented to Joan.
