Update: Melissa has been found safe and well
AdvertisementPolice have re-issued their appeal for a missing Ribbleton teenager to come home.
Melissa Hughes, 16, was last seen around 7pm on Wednesday 29 October after leaving her home on Gamull Lane, Ribbleton.
The teen, who is white, around 5′ tall, slim, with blue eyes and short shoulder length blonde hair which has been dyed purple.
She has a distinctive birth mark below her left eye.
She is thought to have links with the city centre or Fulwood areas of Preston, but also Blackpool and Lancaster.
Police released an appeal late on Saturday night asking for help in tracing Melissa.
Sgt Neil Weaver, of Preston Police said: “Melissa has been missing for a week now and we are obviously growing increasingly concerned for her welfare. We believe she could be with a friend and I would urge anyone who sees her or knows where she might be to get in touch.
“I would also appeal directly to Melissa herself to contact us to let us know she is okay if she sees this appeal.”
