Late-night shopping details for Preston in the lead up to Christmas have been confirmed.

The two major shopping centre car parks have also confirmed when they will be offering free parking, alongside a proposal from Preston City Council for free use of the Market Hall car park.

The Fishergate Shopping Centre starts late-night opening on Wednesdays and Thursdays from Wednesday 12 November up until Christmas.

St George’s Shopping Centre starts late-night opening from the first week of December on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

For car parking the following dates and times will be free:

Fishergate Shopping Centre

Free parking from 4pm on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from Wednesday 12 November

Free parking all day kicks in from Monday 15 December to Christmas Eve.

St George’s Shopping Centre

Free parking is available for a maximum of three hours after 4pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays from Wednesday 3 December.

Sundays 7, 14 and 21 December will also be free parking for three hours.

Market Hall car park

Saturday 15 November from 3pm until 12 midnight for the Christmas lights switch-on

Monday 1 December to Friday 5 December from 3pm to midnight

Sunday 7 December – all day

Monday 8 December to Friday 12 December from 3pm to midnight

Sunday 14 December – all day

Monday 15 December to Friday 19 December from 3pm to midnight

Sunday 21 December – all day

Monday 22 December to Christmas Eve – all day
