Lancashire Police threw open the doors of their Hutton HQ, just outside the city.

Nearly 10,000 people passed through the open day which allowed people to explore what the police do.

The Behind the Badge Day was hailed a huge success and a spokeswoman for the police confirmed they were exploring dates for 2015.

She said: “Following the success of the open days last weekend, it has been decided that a similar event will run next year. But as you can imagine, that’s about as much info as we’ve got as we’re looking back at evaluating this year’s event with a view to planning one next year.

“We’re asking members of the public to sign up to our ‘In the Know’ service in order to receive information about priority tickets for next year’s event.”

The website for Stay In The Know can be found here.
