The St George’s Shopping Centre threw open its doors for the biggest ever student discount night.
A Student Shop-In saw between 25 to 85 per cent more business for stores in the centre.
Students from the University of Central Lancashire, Runshaw College and Cardinal Newman College rushed through the doors to see what was on offer.
One student walked away with £1,000 cash prize, by entering a social media competition before the event.
Shanice Brown, 20, from Preston, was presented with her prize by Made in Chelsea stars Spencer Matthews and Binky Felstead.
She said: “I was so shocked that my name was called.
“Spencer and Binky handed over the £1,000 and it then became real. I think I’m going to put the money towards a car.”
General manager, Andrew Stringer, hailed the event a huge success.
He said: “Our Shop-In was successful beyond belief. Students from across the county came in their droves and we’ve gained such positive feedback from retailers who smashed their sales targets.
“It’s so pleasing to see that when businesses come together you can create an unrivalled experience on par with that of any larger city.”
