More pictures showing how Preston looked nearly 30 years ago have emerged.
AdvertisementRetrieved by Preston’s Digital Archive the images from Ian Thacker show the Docklands, early student accommodation and a nice view of the city skyline from Walton-le-Dale.
Heather Crook, who runs local history magazine The Preston Magazine, had the pictures given to her by Ian of the city in 1985.
There were the quieter areas of the city shown in the pictures too, as Ian clearly enjoyed a walk down the Lancaster Canal.
And he took a trip out to Walton-le-Dale and snapped the city skyline as it was in 1985
There are also pictures of approaching Christmas in the city, as the student accommodation at the Harris was covered in snow.
