A decision on whether controversial fracking sites can be used on the edge of Preston looks likely to be delayed.
AdvertisementLancashire County Council has written to Cuadrilla, who want to frack at Roseacre Wood near Woodplumpton and Preston New Road, near Little Plumpton, requesting more time to make a decision.
Currently the firm was expecting the Preston New Road application to be decided by Wednesday 5 November.
The Roseacre Wood application was due to be decided by Tuesday 18 November.
Cuadrilla also have an application lodged to install monitoring sites around the Roseacre Wood development.
The county council says it needs more time as the planning team needs more time to consider the public consultation and other responses to the plans.
The new timescale proposes Preston New Road would be decided by 31 December and Roseacre would slip into 2015, to 31 January.
A debate about fracking in Lancashire is due to be held in Preston at St John’s Minster in early November.
