Star comedian Jason Manford has asked the people of Preston if they would like him to stage a regular comedy night in their city, in the wake of the Frog and Bucket’s closure.
AdvertisementThe former One Show host, who runs his new comedy nights countrywide under the name Manford’s Comedy Clubs, took to social media earlier today to ask his Preston fans if they would like him to bring the venture here.
He posted: “Sooooo people of Preston. I understand your regular comedy club closed down recently and now you are laughter-less.
“Well I’ve found a city centre venue that could host a Manford’s Comedy Club on a regular basis but I just need a bit of reassurance that there’s enough support for it (after one already closed!).
“So please let me know, Prestonians, by emailing us at info@manfordscomedyclub.com.”
The funnyman already runs one club night at Ribby Hall but his idea seemed popular with the post earning 1,000 likes, and nearly 300 enthusiastic comments in a few hours.
A page on Manford’s comedy club website indicates the former Revolution bar, Rift and Co, on Main Sprit Weind, to be the venue.
The Frog and Bucket nights are due to continue at the Guild Hall after its new management stepped in to offer it a new home.
