Bonfire Night 2014: Firework displays in and around Preston

Fireworks lit up Preston Dock for the Riversway Festival 2013

There are plenty of firework displays to enjoy in and around Preston this Bonfire Night.

We’ll be covering the main Preston displays but we’ve included some a little further afield for Prestonians fancying a change from their usual whizz-bang fun.

The map below includes details of the firework displays taking place. We will add more as and when different displays get confirmed. If you’re on our app, click here to view the map. You can view a date list of all the displays below the map if you prefer.

Saturday 1 November

Gregson Lane playing fields have a display raising money for a new community centre. Fireworks are at 7.30pm and gates are from 6pm. It is £3 for adults and £1 for children.

Wednesday 5 November

Preston Grasshoppers host one of the biggest displays in Preston at the rugby club on Lightfoot Lane, Fulwood.

Gates open at 6pm and last entry is at 8pm. The event is due to finish around 9.30pm.

Tickets are £5 in advance via Skiddle or a family ticket can be bought for £15 which permits two adults and two children. All advance tickets will also get the ticket holder entry to a Preston Grasshoppers match.

A classier affair is available at the Gibbon Bridge hotel with their mulled wine around the fire before a fireworks display.

Tickets are £20 for adults, £10 for children and include a hotpot supper. It starts at 6pm and goes on until 11pm. Tickets can be booked by calling reception on 01995 61456.

The free annual display at Pear Tree Park, Middleforth Green, Penwortham starts from 6.30pm. The actual fireworks are from 7.30pm.

Huntley’s Outdoor Stores, on the way to Samlesbury, run their bonfire night with a fireworks display.

It includes a potato pie and cheese and onion pie supper and an outside bar. A free shuttle bus service runs from the BAE car park from 5.45pm.

Saturday 8 November

A free bonfire and fireworks at the Victory Memorial Ground in Longton.

The bonfire is lit at 7pm and the fireworks take place around 7.30pm, organised by the Longton Community Church.
