A new bar at Preston’s College has applied for an extended alcohol licence.
AdvertisementVincent’s Bar at the Fulwood campus has applied for serving hours.
It is to be staffed by students from the college’s catering and hospitality courses.
An application to Preston City Council states the bar wants to be able to serve from 5pm to 11pm every evening.
Vincent’s also wants to be able to play recorded music between 8am to 11pm.
Carl Speight, vice principal of enterprise and engagement at the College, said: “Vincent’s Café Bar is part of Preston’s College’s commitment to providing real working environments for our learners and preparing them for the world of wor.
“As such and in line with industry practice for interval refreshments, the license application will enable the bar to provide refreshments to people attending evening shows and events in the College’s theatre, shows which will both provide performance opportunities for our learners and also enhance our community events and entertainment role.
“During the day the café bar will be open to the public and will only be providing non-alcoholic hot and cold drinks and snacks.”
It will compliment a restaurant currently open to the public for lunch from Tuesday to Friday, and also every Thursday from 7pm.
A coffee lounge is open from 11am to 12noon every weekday.
Anyone wishing to give comments on the licensing application should email licensing@preston.gov.uk by Wednesday 5 November.
