Fundraising day to remember Reece Whitehead killed in New Hall Lane collision

A fundraising day is to be held in the memory of a teenage cyclist who died while riding his bike.

Reece Whitehead died after a collision with a silver BMW on New Hall Lane in late August.

The 14 year old suffered serious injuries and died in Royal Preston Hospital.

Friends, family and members of the community will rally together at Farringdon Park.

Organiser Lizzie Wignall said: “We just want Reece’s family to know that they’re not alone and Reece will never be forgotten.

“He was part of the furniture in our community and he is very sadly missed by us all.”

The event takes place on the Mardale Road play area on Saturday from 12pm until late.

It will include a BBQ, bouncy castle, stalls, face and nail painting and a raffle.
