The Royal Garrison pub on Sir Tom Finney Way, Garrison, has stood empty for a number of years.

Now a Deepdale property developer has tabled plans to convert the pub and offices above it into two new properties.

A former favourite of soldiers at the nearby Watling Street Road barracks the pub sits within the Fulwood Conservation Area.

Plans submitted by Homeplan4u on behalf of Mr Ali Shan state: “The use of the property will be changed for its continued use for a purpose sympathetic to its conversion.

“The property’s current poor condition will be improved as to undergo a thorough refurbishment due to the course of the conversion.”

Anyone wishing to comment on the plans can do so via the city council website.

Or email devcon@preston.gov.uk quoting reference 06/2014/0682 by Saturday 11 October.
