The world of sci-fi is coming to Preston with a set of film screenings.

Arts group They Eat Culture are working with the British Film Institute to bring cult films to the city.

During October to December there will be Future Preston Tours held showing screenings of sci-fi films from around the world.

Organisers are promising a range of different events, workshops, audio-visual experiences and more during the Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder season.

Many of the venues used will not be places you’d expect to watch a film in.

The Preston events are part of 1,000 sci-fi events taking place throughout the UK, including showings of classic films at the British Museum.

It follows the news that the Guild Hall is to host Preston’s first Comic Convention.
