One of the team behind the event, Paul Dunne, said: “A Comic con is an event in which fans of a particular film, television series, comic book, actor, or an entire genre of entertainment such as science fiction or anime and manga, gather to participate and hold programs and other events, and to meet experts, famous personalities, and each other. Some also incorporate commercial activity.

“Fan conventions are traditionally organised by fans on a not-for-profit basis, though some events catering to fans are run by commercial interests for profit.”

The event will have more than 30 stalls selling collectibles, t-shirts and much more from their favourite shows or series.

Dunne said: “This is Preston’s first full comic con, there have been small events previously but nothing like this.

“We picked the Guild Hall because its easy to access, in the city centre and good for transport.

Preston can expect all the big comic book stars and characters from the Blockbuster films such as Star Trek and Star Wars.

“We want to attract a diverse audience at The Guild again in the future and we are pleased to be bringing Comic Con to our local community. The Guild Hall Ltd is coming back better than ever.”
