Builders have been busy at the site of the old Squires and New York New York late night venues transforming the interiors into what is promised to be the best night club in Preston.

They recently removed the New York New York letters and asked fans on their facebook page if they should be auctioned off for charity.

Cameo are currently looking for a celeb to cut the ribbon on opening day.

Squires, owned by the Luminar Group, was once Preston best loved and most popular nightclub. They also own Evoque nightclub on Church Street.

The refurbishment, part of a nationwide investment programme by Luminar, is costing a cool £0.25million.

Commenting on the investment programme, The Luminar Group’s chief financial officer Russell Margerrison said: “Customers are consistently demanding more from their late night experiences.  The Luminar estate had been under-invested for many years and refurbishing our venues is one of our key priorities. “

Rock Fm’s Sunday night dance DJ Mark Freejack takes over Friday nights at the club.
