A Preston pub is set for a revamp and new owners as it’s been put up for let.Advertisement
Punch Taverns have posted the Dog and Partridge on Friargate as being available to rent for £23,000 per year.
A description of the pub states: “With a reputation as a friendly city centre boozer, even for those who don’t form part of the biker/heavy metal fraternity who make up much of this pub’s clientele, the Dog and Partridge is a music-led pub with a name for excellent beers. It looks a little rundown, and an investment to the interior and exterior should transform it, retaining all the pub’s character while becoming more appealing to new passing trade.
“Live music is vital, and the pub should continue to attract bands and artists new and established. The Dog and Partridge has led on live music for the past 40 years and the interior has borne the brunt of hordes of booted feet stamping along in time, so at present the public bar looks a little faded and dirty.”
Food looks set to become more important to a new look Dog and Partridge, with Punch stating there are 24 tables available for food with a “daytime dining offering.”
Live music is set to stay crucial to the pub’s future, as the new manager is wanted to have experience of booking bands.
