Couple arrested by police on suspicion of Broadgate attack on teenagers

Continental pub on South Meadow Lane

A man and a woman have been arrested following an assault on two teenagers outside the Continental pub in Broadgate.

Lancashire Police say they have arrested a 28-year-old woman from Lostock Hall and a 32-year-old man from Walton-le-Dale on suspicion of assault.

They are currently being questioned by detectives about the incident outside the pub on South Meadow Lane which left one teenager unconscious and another needing plastic surgery.

The assault is said to have taken place after the couple left a wedding reception on Saturday and two teenagers tried to intervene as they were arguing.
