Jamie England, Jake Oakes and Tom Cafferkey are a trio of friends doing a 24 hour walk from Britannia stadium in Stoke-on-Trent to the stadium at Deepdale in Preston on 13 September 2014 to raise money for the Katy Holmes trust.
AdvertisementThey have added a little twist to their 67 mile challenge – they are not allowed to start with any money, food or drink and must rely on our own wits in order to not fall in an exhausted slumber.
They are going to video their interactions with people to get food and drink to prove they are true to their word, and to try and show the best side of the British public!
So far Jamie says they have got a little bit of sponsorship and Preston North End contributed home match tickets for them to set up a fundraiser with.
They have also taken to the streets of Preston to get donations. They are really keen to get as many people as possible interested in what they are doing a they know people will appreciate their efforts and donate money to a great cause which is based in the north west and is dear to many local people.
Jamie wants people to be aware how easily it is to donate and to let people know they can watch their dramas on a video after the event.
They have a fundraising page at the JustGiving site.
People can keep up to date at their facebook page and donations can also be made by texting COEN99 and £5, £10 or £15 to 70070.
