A Preston charity which provides vital care to children with learning disabilities needs one final bit of funding.
AdvertisementThe Space Centre in Ashton-on-Ribble was facing closure when it announced it was missing hundreds of thousands of pounds in funding.
But due to support from the public and local businesses it has managed to be saved.
Space has a multi sensory room which creates an environment for children and their parents to relax and play.
Now centre bosses say the main centre has become so popular they need funding to create a second centre.
They are calling on the public to text their donations in to raise £97,000.
Hilary Holden fundraising coordinator said: “When we started the Space 2 project we needed £2m for new premises and state of the art equipment. “That target is now down to £97,000 after the SOS Appeal and Creative Support saving the centre from closure.
“Space 2 is desperately needed as Space 1 is booked up seven days a week and we are constantly turning away children with special needs, families, carers and adult with multiple learning disabilities.
“A text appeal has been set up to raise the remaining monies required and you the reader could help Space achieve the dream of providing these much needed facilities for our disabled community for many years to come.”
To donate text SPACE02 £2/£5/£10 to 70070
