A former day centre in Deepdale could become a new private care home.

The site on Sir Tom Finney Way has sat empty next to Sainsbury’s in Deepdale for a number for years.

Lancashire County Council say a prospective purchaser is close to clinching a deal.

County Councillor Jennifer Mein, leader of the council, said: “This property has been empty for some time, so we’re pleased that a sale is in the process of being agreed. This will raise money for the council, while also creating jobs in any new development on the site.”

The deal now hinges on the prospective buyer gaining planning permission for the site.
